Beloved, said the Glorious One, unless thy desire had been for me thou wouldst not have sought so lo

Sitting here today thinking about this new place I am LIVING in it is foreign to me because I have never lived here before, but it is welcome. It is a beautiful day-It is a day of peace, love, and joy. The question that runs through my heart is “how do I live in this place and what is needed to live here?

As I am writing I can hear my pastor say “Heaven is not your home-make your home like heaven” When I first heard him say this I thought I need to do this, but I really need to know what is heaven like. My first thoughts were there is no sickness there, no pain, it has streets of gold…you know all the things that they taught us in Sunday school, but as my aunt taught me it is always deeper than that. So I had to go deeper.

Heaven is the Throne of God. It is the place where God sits and governs the universe and since scripture tells me I am seated with Him in heavenly places then I am seated in a place of rule and reign over my sphere-my place of influence.

This new life I am now living I am seated in a place of rule and reign in my home, in my family, in my community, in my job, etc. I have the authority to bring heaven into every place I “rule”. Wherever I find myself, as a son of God, I bring the Kingdom of my Father and that is righteousness, peace, and joy. This is what I permit and I say that not in arrogance but in confidence because I am seated with my Father in a place of rule and reign!

So what does this look like in my life? Well, in my family I only permit righteousness, peace, and joy, in my home the same, in my job the same, in my community the same, etc. This is also how I rule- I rule with righteousness, peace, and joy. If it is not right, if it does not bring peace and joy it is not permitted to remain in our lives.

Next question that comes to mind is how do I stand in these places and rule when there is an opposing force that does not want to give up their seat? Well the answer is found in scripture and it is very clear on how to take back your seat of dominion from the enemies that want to usurp your rule- you put on the armor of God. It is the armor ALL His warriors wear. It is unlike any other armor.

Ephesians 6:10-18 (NKJV)

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, [a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

He has given us, His sons, dominion in the earth and He is showing us how to rule and reign as He designed the earth to be governed. Now is the time to trust and obey- as the song says there is no other way but to trust and obey. It is time to obey our Father and rule as He has taught us to rule. What He once winked at He will not wink at anymore because we are mature sons and it is time for us to rule our lives and all He has given us to rule over.

I take my seat of authority back and I will rule and reign; not by might nor by power, but by His spirit. I will trust and obey My Father in all things so the Kingdom of God and His glory can fill my world as it is in Heaven!
