There is a moment in every person's life that they must decide how they will live their lives! I have one question for my readers today- How do you choose to live your life?

I made my choice thirty-five years ago. I decided to commit myself to raise my family! What did that mean exactly? I HAD A DREAM. I dreamt that my family; my children, my grandchildren, my great-grandchildren, and for as many generations my heart's desire could reach, would be servants of God and bring change to their worlds by whatever means, gifts, talents, or skills God placed in their hands. I chose to leave a legacy with my family just as my grandparents left me; to Seek ye first the Kingdom of God!

As a family, we struggled, I made some poor decisions along the way, but our foundation was sure. I look back and see all the altars to God that I have erected that I can now leave for my family. These altars speak to them saying "this is the way-walk ye in it". I set the course for them. Have you set a course for your family to follow?

Today I am seeing my dream come to fruition.

Today, my son is the first African American mayor in our city, and the first Republican African American mayor in the state of Pennsylvania in its over 200-year history. He made this decision to run for mayor not because he was on the career path to be a politician, but because He obeyed God's voice when He called him. Over the years, I watched my son always choose the path God set for him. Faith is the fuel that runs the engine of his life. He is a transformational leader. He was born for this time! He leads in righteousness, peace, and joy! He is moved with compassion for the people. ALWAYS KINGDOM FIRST!

I stood and watched my 2nd oldest daughter bury her husband unexpectedly. He was only 29. She was left with four young children to raise on her own. I have watched my daughter and grandchildren continue to give God praise despite the pain. THEY NEVER LOST THEIR PRAISE! THEY CONTINUE TO SERVE THE KING AND HIS KINGDOM!

I saw my oldest daughter face depression and the uncertainty of life with resilience. As she struggled through one of the most difficult times of her life she began to send her tithes to the church she wasn't attending anymore knowing she must connect to the King and His Kingdom and it delivered her, and today she is becoming a mighty woman and is an amazing mother.

I watched my youngest daughter choose to leave behind close friends, her education in a field of study she chose to pursue for a life of serving God, establishing the Kingdom and living the life God chose for her. She influences her nieces and nephews, family and friends daily. She is now living the life God wanted for her, and she continues to live a life in submission to His will for her life!

I am looking forward to the next 35 years and keeping the dream alive! He is my choice forever and As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!

What will be your legacy?
